I try to review children's books from my four-year-old son's perspective, so in that regard, I gave this four stars. As my son is a master block architect, this book really appealed to him. The pictures are rather simplistic, but I give the author kudos for using original illustrations rather than taking stock pictures and fitting her story to that. My son giggled, as he thought the kids looked like toys themselves, but he giggled in a good way. The thing to remember is that as parents and care providers, we buy these books to entertain or educate the children, we do not buy them to entertain ourselves. Out of the hundreds of books he has, my son has chosen this one on numerous occasions. He loves to see the different block structures in the book.

Fabulous book for anyone's block center !!
Great book!
I love this book and so do the kids in my class! Great book for Pre-K.
My pre-k class lloved this book they began building on copying every page in the book it's an excellent addition to a classroom
Great book for really young children to inspire their imagination to do more with blocks. Great for first grade or younger.
This is a cute book, but I found it expensive for a paper cover plus it arrived all bended.
My twos class just loves this book! It gives them ideas of different ways to play with their blocks and other toys. I've seen more castles and airplanes built out of duplos and links since reading this story. Its now a favorite in our classroom.The simple illustrations and basic vocabulary make it for my group.
